Summer fun at new leisure centre

I'm delighted at the great programme of activities on offer for local children this summer at the brand new Morley Leisure Centre. Activities include swimming lessons, athletics camp and multi sport days.

You can find a full programme here. It’s good news for young people across Leeds that, despite Government cuts, Leeds City Council has agreed to extend free swimming for under 16’s through the summer holiday.

I was given a special tour of the centre last week by Centre Manager Sharon Gard. The facilities really are fantastic and they are already appreciated by the community – with over 20,000 visits since the doors opened in June. The leisure centre is part of a £33million investment in sports and leisure facilities by Leeds City Council.
